Here it is... god know what it was for though...

Given this by the in laws today.

Not sure of its origin as the outer paint has been largely sanded away.

Lettering on the top reads as best i can make out...

OSSHLA__RS A_ONM_NT N___M

COM____E _TAT___

APR 1945

Inside reads:

CASES TEST EQUIPMENT
No 51 WY2620

On much the same spirit of acquisition as Gadge, my good lady's father gave me two '37patt small packs (1942 and 1943, one blanco'd "sand" and one un-blanco'd). A set of '37patt cross straps (one each, attached to each small pack), a set of '37patt L-straps (found attached to the un-blanco'd small pack), a blue enamelled water bottle complete with felt sleeve and '37patt skeleton holder (1942) and a few spurious '44patt straps.

Also bought two '37patt belts, one blanco'd black and one blanco'd white. Both blanco'd very well (not painted). 50p each from Derby's finest carboot sale!

1943 dated Brit' white canvas kit bag - £1

Brit' CF41 (1900A) Naval/Artillery/Observer binoculars, in fantastic 'hardly used' condition, complete with leather covers and well-fitting postwar/civilian leather case - £18*

(* Just like these, but mines' in far better condition, and without the arrows painted yellow (or white as usually seen) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Barr-Stroud-CF41-Binoculars-with-original-case_W0QQitemZ320459351242QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Collectables_Militaria_LE?hash=item4a9cdda4ca or http://www.opticalrepairs.com/images/i.jpg)

Got these bits over the last few weeks -

* Pair of Swiss Ski Goggles, for a German 'Mountain'-esp impression that I'm trying to put together >

-- attachment is not available --
Have seen these listed as German goggles but I believe that they are of Swiss manufacture and issued to Italian Mountain/Ski troops; not beyond the realms that the German troops would have 'acquired' some or something similar though ... ??

* 1950's Swedish Snow Smock - will be dying this grey to use as a 'Winter'/'Mountain' smock

* DDR Buckle - same 2-prong fitting as wartime, but cheaper

* EM belt from Epic - more cherry-brown/red than Lufty brown, but will colour it black anyway

* Full metal 1911 Springer, as discussed in the 'Radom' holster thread - have yet to use it in anger but seems fine, although it obviously wasn't looked after by the previous owner. Has a large reserve for bb's in the mag (as there's no gas storage requirement) - unlikely to be firing 100+ bb's through the 1911, but a useful reserve to fill a couple of AEG lo-caps from, without having to carry additional bb's :good:

A Marshall JCM800 50w Master Volume 2x12" combo (Model 4104; combo version of the legendary 2204 head), in brilliant/stunning condition, complete with original cover, for a bargain £90!!!

Yeah, sure it's not WW2 or airsoft, but it's awesome and a bargain :happyswing:

Splinter pattern winter parka from Epic. Probably not "correct" for most games but lovely and warm, and on open days, who cares ?
